Shane Marston

Shane Marston joined Smockum Zarnett LLP as an Associate, after articling with the firm in 2021.

Shane maintains a broad litigation practice, with a particular focus on insurance defence. As an articling student with Smockum Zarnett, he had the opportunity to appear before multiple levels of court in a wide range of complex insurance and commercial disputes.

Shane completed his JD at the University of Ottawa, where he was awarded with the National Academy of Arbitrator’s Writing Prize for Emerging Issues in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Shane was employed by the faculty of law as a writing leader and peer mentor in the University’s Legal Writing Academy.

Outside of work, Shane is a committed band member, Toronto Raptors fan and a world-ranked crokinole player.
